Effective Date: April 26, 2026
1. Introduction
LightDrive is built around a simple conviction: your digital life belongs under your stewardship, not ours. When you entrust your data to LightDrive, you do not surrender control of it or the rights you have in your content. We take that trust seriously and treat your information with the care, restraint, and respect that good stewardship requires.
LightDrive provides private cloud storage, email, contacts, calendar, account-management, billing, and related services. In order to provide those services, we collect and process some personal information. We design LightDrive to collect as little account information as reasonably necessary and to use personal information only to provide, secure, support, bill, maintain, and legally protect the service.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your files, emails, contacts, calendars, photos, or other private content for advertising. We do not build advertising profiles from your data. We do not use your private content for targeted advertising or data mining.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, how long we keep it, what choices you have, and how you may exercise your privacy rights.
For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “LightDrive,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to LightDrive, LLC and the LightDrive services we operate. “You” and “your” refer to the person or entity accessing or using the service.
2. Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed through LightDrive and the services we provide, including:
(a) the LightDrive website;
(b) account registration, login, and account verification;
(c) LightDrive Vault and related cloud-storage services;
(d) LightDrive email and webmail services;
(e) contacts, calendar, and related sync services;
(f) billing, subscriptions, and account-management features;
(g) support, security, and service communications; and
(h) any other LightDrive feature, page, or service that links to this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we collect directly from you, information generated through your use of LightDrive, information you choose to store or transmit through LightDrive, and information we receive from service providers that help us operate the service.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services that LightDrive does not own or control. For example, if you leave LightDrive and visit a third-party website, use a third-party payment page, or interact with another provider’s service, that third party’s own privacy policy governs its collection and use of information.
When LightDrive uses service providers to help operate our service, such as payment processing, hosting, email delivery, security, or support providers, we describe that use in this Privacy Policy. We require service providers to process personal information only for authorized service purposes.
3. Our Privacy Commitments
LightDrive is designed to provide useful digital services without turning your personal information into an advertising product.
Our commitments are:
(a) We do not sell your personal information.
(b) We do not use your private content for advertising.
(c) We do not build advertising profiles from your files, emails, contacts, calendars, photos, or stored content.
(d) We do not share your personal information for targeted advertising.
(e) We collect and use personal information only for service-related purposes, including providing, securing, supporting, billing, maintaining, improving, and legally protecting LightDrive.
(f) We treat your files, emails, contacts, calendars, photos, and other stored content as private user content.
(g) We use service providers only as needed to operate LightDrive, and we require them to process personal information only for authorized service purposes.
(h) We give users reasonable ways to access, correct, export, or delete their information, subject to legal, security, billing, backup, and service-integrity limits.
These commitments apply across LightDrive unless this Privacy Policy clearly explains a specific exception, such as legal compliance, account security, abuse prevention, billing records, backups, or a user-directed sharing feature.
4. Information We Collect
LightDrive is designed to collect as little account information as reasonably necessary. The information we collect depends on how you use LightDrive and which features you choose to use.
4.1 Account and Contact Information.
We collect information needed to create, verify, secure, and manage your account. This may include your username, LightDrive ID, recovery email address, password authentication data, account status, and similar account information.
You may also choose to provide additional information, such as your name or other contact information, if needed for account support, billing, verification, legal notices, or future account features.
4.2 Content You Store or Transmit Through LightDrive.
When you use LightDrive, you may store, send, receive, or sync content through the service. This may include files, folders, photos, documents, emails, contacts, calendars, and related metadata.
We process this information to provide the services you choose to use. We do not use your private content for advertising, targeted advertising, or data mining.
4.3 Billing and Subscription Information.
If you use a paid plan, trial, or billing-related feature, we process information needed to manage your subscription. This may include your plan, subscription status, invoice history, payment status, cancellation or reactivation records, refund information, and identifiers used by our payment processor.
LightDrive does not store your full payment card number. Payment information is processed by our payment processor.
4.4 Technical, Security, and Usage Information.
We collect technical and security information needed to operate, protect, and maintain LightDrive. This may include IP address, browser or device information, user agent, login/session information, security logs, error logs, account activity, storage usage, quota information, and records showing acceptance of our Terms or updated Terms.
We use this information for service operation, security, fraud and abuse prevention, troubleshooting, legal compliance, and account administration.
4.5 Settings and Preferences.
We may collect settings and preferences you choose or configure in LightDrive, such as language, locale, timezone, accessibility settings, notification preferences, display preferences, and similar account settings.
4.6 Communications with LightDrive.
If you contact LightDrive for support or communicate with us about your account, we may process the information you provide and records of those communications so we can respond, provide support, and maintain appropriate records.
5. How We Use Information
LightDrive uses personal information only for purposes related to providing, securing, supporting, billing, maintaining, improving, and legally protecting the service.
We may use personal information to:
(a) create, verify, authenticate, and manage user accounts;
(b) provide cloud storage, email, webmail, contacts, calendar, sync, and related services;
(c) store, transmit, display, sync, and retrieve user content at the user’s direction;
(d) manage subscriptions, trials, billing, invoices, refunds, cancellations, reactivations, and account status;
(e) send account, verification, billing, security, lifecycle, support, and other service-related communications;

LightDrive does not use personal information or private user content for targeted advertising, third-party advertising, data mining, or advertising profiles.
6. How We Share Information
LightDrive does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for targeted advertising.
We share personal information only when needed to operate, secure, support, bill, maintain, or legally protect LightDrive. This may include sharing information with:
(a) service providers that help us provide hosting, storage, email delivery, payment processing, security, monitoring, backups, support, or other operational services;
(b) payment processors that process subscriptions, invoices, payment methods, refunds, chargebacks, and billing-related records;
(c) legal, accounting, or compliance professionals when needed for business, tax, legal, or regulatory purposes;
(d) law enforcement, courts, regulators, or other authorities when we believe disclosure is required by law or appropriate to protect legal rights, user safety, service integrity, or the security of LightDrive; and
(e) other people or services at your direction, such as when you share a file, send an email, create a calendar invite, use a public link, enable a feed, or otherwise choose to disclose information through LightDrive.
We require service providers to process personal information only for authorized service purposes and not for their own advertising, sale, or unrelated use.
7. Private User Content
LightDrive treats the content you store, send, receive, or sync through the service as private user content.
Private user content may include files, folders, documents, photos, emails, email attachments, contacts, calendars, notes, and related metadata. You may choose to store personal, family, financial, legal, health-related, or other sensitive information in LightDrive. We process that content only as needed to provide, secure, support, maintain, or legally protect the service.
LightDrive does not use private user content for advertising. We do not build advertising profiles from your files, emails, contacts, calendars, photos, or stored content. We do not sell private user content.
LightDrive may access or process private user content only in limited circumstances, such as:
(a) when necessary to provide the service or a feature you use;
(b) when you request support or ask us to help troubleshoot a problem;
(c) when needed to secure the service, prevent abuse, investigate fraud, spam, malware, or harmful activity;
(d) when required to comply with law, court orders, legal process, or valid governmental requests;
(e) when needed to enforce our Terms of Service or protect the rights, safety, property, or lawful interests of LightDrive, our users, or others; or
(f) when needed for backup, restoration, account recovery, or service-integrity purposes.
You retain the rights you have in your content. LightDrive’s role is to store, transmit, process, and protect that content as needed to provide the service.
8. Billing and Payment Processing
LightDrive uses third-party payment processors to manage payments, subscriptions, invoices, refunds, chargebacks, and related billing activity.
When you use a paid plan, trial, subscription, upgrade, downgrade, cancellation, reactivation, refund, or billing-history feature, we may process billing-related information such as your plan, subscription status, invoice history, payment status, renewal status, cancellation status, refund records, and payment-processor identifiers.
LightDrive does not store your full payment card number. Payment card information and payment method details are handled by our payment processor. The payment processor may collect and process information according to its own privacy policy and legal obligations.
LightDrive uses billing information to:
(a) create and manage subscriptions;
(b) provide trials and paid plans;
(c) process upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, reactivations, refunds, and account changes;
(d) display billing status and invoice history;
(e) prevent billing fraud and abuse;
(f) maintain tax, accounting, legal, and audit records; and
(g) resolve payment disputes, chargebacks, or support requests.
Some billing records may be retained after an account is canceled or deleted when needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or audit purposes.
9. Account Verification, Recovery Email, and Service Notices
LightDrive uses your recovery email address to help create, verify, protect, and manage your account.
Your recovery email may be used for:
(a) account verification;
(b) password reset or account recovery;
(c) security alerts;
(d) billing and subscription notices;
(e) Terms of Service or Privacy Policy notices;
(f) account lifecycle notices, such as trial, cancellation, suspension, deletion, or reactivation notices;
(g) support communications; and
(h) other important service-related messages.
You may be asked to verify your recovery email during registration or when changing your email address. A pending email change may not take effect until the new email address is verified.
LightDrive may continue to send essential service notices even if you disable optional notifications. Essential notices include messages needed for account security, billing, legal compliance, account verification, or continued operation of the service.
LightDrive does not sell your recovery email address and does not use it for third-party advertising.
10. Cookies, Sessions, and Similar Technologies
LightDrive uses cookies, session tokens, and similar technologies as needed to operate and secure the service.
These technologies may be used to:
(a) keep you signed in;
(b) remember account settings or preferences;
(c) protect against cross-site request forgery, unauthorized access, and other security risks;
(d) support account registration, login, and verification;
(e) maintain service functionality across LightDrive website, account, and Vault features;
(f) detect errors, abuse, or suspicious activity; and
(g) improve reliability and performance.
LightDrive does not use third-party advertising cookies. LightDrive does not use cookies to build advertising profiles from your activity.
If LightDrive later adds analytics or similar measurement tools, we will use privacy-respecting tools where reasonably possible and will update this Privacy Policy as needed to describe what is collected and why.
You may be able to block or delete cookies through your browser settings. However, some cookies and similar technologies are necessary for LightDrive to function properly, and disabling them may prevent login, account security, or core service features from working.
11. User Sharing, Public Links, and User-Directed Disclosures
LightDrive allows you to store private content, but some features may let you share or disclose information at your direction.
For example, you may choose to:
(a) send an email;
(b) share a file or folder;
(c) create or respond to a calendar invitation;
(d) sync contacts or calendars with another device or application;
(e) enable an activity feed or similar access link;
(f) provide information to a support request; or
(g) otherwise make information available to another person or service.
When you share information through LightDrive, the people or services you share with may be able to view, copy, save, forward, or further disclose that information. You are responsible for choosing what to share and for managing any sharing settings, links, recipients, or permissions available to you.
Some sharing features may use private access links or tokens. Anyone with access to such a link may be able to view the information made available through that link. You should keep private links secure and disable or regenerate them if you believe they were shared by mistake or accessed without permission.
LightDrive does not treat user-directed sharing as a sale of personal information.
12. Data Retention, Account Cancellation, and Deletion
LightDrive keeps personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Retention periods may depend on the type of information, the status of the account, legal requirements, backup schedules, billing records, security needs, and whether the information is needed to resolve disputes or protect the service.
In general:
(a) account information is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward;
(b) user content is retained while needed to provide the service and according to applicable account cancellation, suspension, deletion, or backup procedures;
(c) billing, invoice, tax, accounting, refund, chargeback, and audit records may be retained after cancellation or deletion where needed for legal, financial, or dispute-resolution purposes;
(d) security logs, access records, and abuse-prevention records may be retained for service protection, investigation, legal compliance, or system integrity;
(e) backup copies may remain for a limited time after deletion until they are overwritten or expired through normal backup processes; and
(f) information subject to a legal hold, dispute, investigation, chargeback, or lawful request may be retained as needed.
When you cancel your account or request deletion, LightDrive will follow its account lifecycle and deletion procedures. Some features may become unavailable before final deletion occurs. After final deletion, LightDrive will delete or de-identify personal information where reasonably possible, except for information we need to retain for legal, billing, tax, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, backup, dispute-resolution, or service-integrity reasons.
LightDrive may reserve a deleted username, LightDrive ID, or email address for a period of time to prevent impersonation, confusion, abuse, or accidental reassignment.
13. Security
LightDrive uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information and private user content.
These safeguards may include access controls, authentication protections, encryption in transit, logging, monitoring, backups, abuse-prevention measures, and limits on administrative access. We also use security practices intended to protect accounts, detect suspicious activity, prevent unauthorized access, and maintain the integrity of the service.
No online service can guarantee perfect security. You also play an important role in protecting your account by choosing a strong password, keeping your recovery email secure, protecting your devices, and notifying LightDrive if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
If LightDrive becomes aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will investigate and provide notice where required by law.
14. Legal Compliance, Abuse Prevention, and Legal Holds
LightDrive may process, preserve, or disclose personal information when we believe it is reasonably necessary to:
(a) comply with applicable law, court orders, subpoenas, legal process, or lawful government requests;
(b) protect the rights, safety, property, or lawful interests of LightDrive, our users, or others;
(c) enforce our Terms of Service or other applicable policies;
(d) prevent, detect, or investigate fraud, spam, malware, abuse, security threats, unauthorized access, or harmful activity;
(e) maintain the security, availability, and integrity of the service;
(f) respond to billing disputes, chargebacks, tax obligations, audits, or accounting requirements; or
(g) establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
If information is subject to a legal hold, dispute, investigation, chargeback, abuse review, or lawful request, LightDrive may preserve that information even if it would otherwise be eligible for deletion.
Where appropriate and legally permitted, LightDrive may notify users of legal requests involving their information. We may delay or withhold notice if notice is prohibited by law, would create a security risk, would interfere with an investigation, or would risk harm to LightDrive, our users, or others.
15. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live and how applicable privacy laws apply, you may have the right to:
(a) confirm whether LightDrive processes personal information about you;
(b) access personal information LightDrive maintains about you;

LightDrive does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for targeted advertising. If our practices change in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any required rights, notices, or choices.
Some rights may be limited by law, security needs, billing or tax requirements, backup practices, legal obligations, fraud-prevention needs, dispute-resolution needs, or the need to maintain the integrity of the service.
LightDrive will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. For example, we will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised a privacy right, except where a difference is reasonably related to the information needed to provide the service or permitted by law.
16. How to Make a Privacy Request
You may make a privacy request by contacting LightDrive at: admin@lightdrive.one
You may also be able to access, correct, export, or delete certain information directly through your LightDrive account settings or service features.
To protect your account, we may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a privacy request. Verification may include confirming control of your LightDrive account, recovery email address, or other information reasonably necessary to confirm that the request is legitimate.
If you ask us to delete information, we will process the request according to applicable law and LightDrive’s account lifecycle, backup, legal, billing, security, and retention procedures. Some information may be retained where permitted or required by law.
If we deny a privacy request, in whole or in part, we will explain the reason where required by law. You may appeal a denied request by contacting us at: appeal@lightdrive.one
We will review appeals according to applicable law.
17. Children’s Privacy
LightDrive is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create a LightDrive account unless we later offer a parent- or guardian-managed account feature that complies with applicable law.
LightDrive does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without required parental or guardian consent. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without required consent, we will take appropriate steps to delete the information or otherwise address it as required by law.
Parents or guardians who believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to LightDrive may contact us at: admin@lightdrive.one

If LightDrive later offers services specifically directed to users in countries or regions with additional privacy-law requirements, we may provide additional notices or rights as required by applicable law.
19. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in LightDrive, our practices, legal requirements, or service features.
If we make material changes, we will provide notice in a reasonable way, such as by email, in-service notice, website notice, or another method required by law. The updated Privacy Policy will state its effective date.
Your continued use of LightDrive after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means that the updated Privacy Policy applies to information processed after that effective date, unless applicable law requires a different approach.
If a change requires your consent, we will ask for consent in the manner required by law.
